There is no need to rush to the repair shop each time your computer has an issue. The most common problems with PCs are easy to fix.

Here are some common problems that a PC can cause. I also provide information on what to do if you have any.

1.PC Overheating

Heating a PC can slow down the system and cause frequent crashes. Heat can also permanently damage components of the PC.

Two main reasons your computer heats up are: Either your cooling system isn’t working properly, or your PC is heating up to the point that it can’t cool down anymore. It’s worth checking out.

2.USB Ports that are not working

It doesn’t matter if your USB port stops functioning. Here are some ways to fix the problem.

Method 1: Restart your PC

It is possible to fix many issues by restarting your computer. This is also a common solution for USB port problems.

Method 2: Disable the USB port driver

Windows will reinstall the USB driver if you uninstall it. This could fix the problem. Here’s how you can do it.

1.To open the Device Manager, press the Windows + R keys.

2.Expand Universal Serial Bus Controllers Option is available here.

3.Right-click on the entry USB Host Controller, and then click Uninstall.

Method 3: Disable USB selective suspend

USB Selective Suspend, a Windows power-saving feature, suspends idle or unused USB ports to conserve energy. Sometimes, it can stop a USB port from working. Here’s how to disable it.

1.To open Windows Power Options, press the Windows + R keys.

2.Click here to modify your plan settings, then click Advanced power settings.

3.Expand USB settings, and then disable the USB selective suspend setting.

4.To see if the USB port problem is fixed, restart the computer.

5.Disconnecting from WiFi keeps the PC from connecting.

Your PC’s network card might not get enough power if your WiFi works fine and your computer keeps disconnecting. Windows has a power-saver option built into Windows that provides less power to the network cards. This feature must be disabled

1.Navigate to Power Options > Advanced Settings.

2.Expand Wireless Adaptor Settings, then expand Power Saving Mode.

3.This will ensure maximum performance

4.Beeps from the PC

Your PC’s motherboard is intelligent enough to detect potential problems, and sound beeps at different times to alert you.

It’s often difficult to fix a problem independently if the PC does not respond to the beeps.

Problem 1: RAM is out of place

This is a problem that I dealt with recently. If the RAM is out of place or loose, your computer will stop booting. It is easy to fix this problem. Laptop users should have an expert do this. Here’s how:

1.Clean the RAM thoroughly and use a cotton bud to clean the slots.

2.Now, insert the RAM back and apply enough pressure to both ends, so it is fully in.

3.After that, close the clips to secure them. Even slightly loose RAM won’t work.

Rounding up

The hardware issue can be fixed easily by changing the settings or using the software. Some of these problems will require that you visit a computer repair shop. It is helpful to know the basics so you can take the necessary steps. If you have ever had a problem with your PC’s hardware, please let us know how you solved it in the comments.
